todo

Writing one
type a comma at the start of a line and a menu of markers appears; ↵ takes the highlighted one
,todo
(,todo buy milk)
gives you the checkbox and its text in a single stroke
The three states
the checkbox cycles to-do → in progress → done, and round again
the other two states cannot be typed — the checkbox is the only way to reach them
a finished line is struck through and dimmed
Inheritance
a line nested under a to-do inherits its marker, because nesting inherits everything
the checkbox always flips the line's own state, never the one it inherited
Backspace in the empty slot of a bare to-do strips just that line's marker and leaves the line
